MEDICAL LECTURES WELL ON THE WAY

Dr. Jordan Greenbaum (left) gives advice to a participant.

AN HONOR TO HAVE THIS HIGH QUALITY DOCTOR TO SERVE HERE IN KYRGYZSTAN

Dr. Jordan Greenbaum has presented two of the three planned lectures here in Tokmok City. We had workers, police, and doctors attend the lectures. One police inspector said he wanted more as he was really wanting to know more about child abuse. This team of police shared their stories of how they most recently worked with a family where a severe abuse had occured and were able to see that the abuser was sent to prison.

We learned that children do not get standardized education on how to protect themselves, keep free from trafficking, or about their own sexual development. In addition, there seems to be little to no data about the number of children being abused, physically, emotionally or sexually. Research is needed. Yet, all participants said this is a major problem in the country, one in which they want to be part of the solution to creating programs, services and activities which will help families and children. This story has not yet ended.

Thursday, Dr. Greenbaum will be lecturing in Bishkek City at the Humanatarian University for the Social Work Faculty and students. Again, Ephesians 4:12 - in action!

Tomorrow - off to make lots of fruit deliveries.
* To Iskra, the home for disabled men
* To Kemin, the home for homeless grandmothers and grandfathers
* To Orlovka, the orphanage.

Stay tuned to get an update on all of these our dear friends in Kyrgyzstan.
