REACHING MILESTONES - ONE CHILD AT A TIME

DASHA'S BIRTHDAY DINNER
The Dayspring family dinner was at a pizza restaurant - very special for the children at Dayspring - thanks donors! They were so thrilled to go out to a restaurant.

Dasha in the middle - our guest of honor - the birthday girl!

Then a little time in the park!

And back home for the birthday celebration - cake and all with Papa Costa!

Our little girls, Mark and our special visitors - Emina, Melody and Devina - sisters visiting for the birthday.  Dasha's face tell the story well.

And one very VERY SPECIAL GUEST - Mom!
Yes, Dasha's mother came for her birthday.

Dayspring is beginning to see the milestones it hopes for  - permanence for children - permanence with family.  Only this week Dayspring was instrumental in helping one of our little girls reunite with her family.  Yulia is now home and will continue to be a part of Dayspring - with visits from our team, her coming to Dayspring to visit the girls and to attend school with the girls - at the School of Blessing.

Our team is working hard to bring permanence to children - families not orphanages.  Dayspring is a pilot program to work with crisis families, divert children from the orphanages and to work with each child and where possible family to find that permanent safe family for each of them.

In just over one week, David and Jayne Schooler will be in Kyrgyzstan working with our team - teaching them in the area of Trauma.  The impact of trauma on a child is sometimes overwhelming not only for the child, but for the caregiver as well.  We want our staff well trained and ready to help in all possible ways.  David and Jayne will not only be training our team, they will be working with two of our other partners; SOS Children's Villages in Bishkek and an Orphanage in Karakol we are working with.

With John and Julie arriving next week, Schoolers following - we will have a strong support team on the ground to move our work forward.  John and Julie are focused on Humanatarian Aide, Schoolers on training and development.  WHAT A TEAM!
