SHOES FOR ORPHANS - MEETING NEEDS AND TOUCHING HEARTS

SHOES FOR ORPHANS
ORLOVKA ORPHANAGE
CHUI ORPHANAGE

OVER 200 SERVED TODAY

The day started with Orlovka Orphanage – serving both children and staff.  They brought the children home from school to receive their blessings and then sent them back after – with brand new shoes!  Once the children were gone we served the staff – all of them!  Each child and every staff received a new pair of socks, and a new pair of shoes.  AND most importantly each person was served by washing their feet and praying with them.  We served 57 at Orlovka.

Samaritans Feet team member Pastor Joey - caring for a child
while here mother (staff) was served.
Then we headed to Chui orphanage – serving around 117 in total – again both children and staff.  The director was served and she was so gracious and thankful for the new shoes for the children – much needed.  One beautiful teen was embarrassed to show us the shoes that she was presently wearing – worn, holes and in need of a change.  Today was her day and you should have seen her face.  She could hardly contain herself.

Temple of God servants!
Set up and ready to serve at Chui Orphanage.

These little pink shoes just thrilled her heart - she kept tapping the floor - got
a little camera shy when I stepped int get her photo.

Each child was prayed for by several persons.
She was radient with joy at her new shoes!
Then they gathered to thank us....humbing!
The director said – they all pray for three things for their children – enough to eat, clothes to wear and shoes to wear.  She said they now have all three, as they all needed shoes.  She also was remembering that 11 years ago someone brought shoes to everyone – and she STILL has those shoes and still wears them. The final part of this event was for the auditorium to fill with the staff and the children and for them to give a big thank you to the team.

We served the staff there and they said this was awesome for them as they don’t get remembered in such a way.  We noticed their joy as they showed each other their shoes and “pranced” around the auditorium with joy.  Sometimes little things bring the BIG things – as we have been given an open door to the orphanage and the children.  Pastor Sasha greeted each child in the rear of the auditorium and each child walked away a living testimony as a son or daughter of the Most High.  Miracles happened today!

The team is now being served.
Touched my heart more than I could ever say.
Ending the day with a fabulous dinner of sashleke for the entire team.

We ended the day serving all the volunteers and team members and a wonderful shashleke meal cooked by our team member – Andre.

What was the best part?  The children professing their understanding of where the gifts are coming from – their Heavenly Father. Angels dancing in Heaven today
