SERVICE ON THE SILK ROAD CONTINUES...

SILK ROAD
"The journey of miracles continue...."
KYRGYZSTAN

WE HAVE POSTED SO MANY TIMES ABOUT DASHA'S ADOPTION thinking it was going to be final any day.  Then each time adoptive mom and our LAMb Social Worker would go to court another obstacle would be brought forward by the judge.  We have had to produce countless papers about her father that passed away, bring her mother in to sign about the father (to find her sober long enough to do this) ensure her older brother would approve (and he had never shown any interest in her - except to ask if we would pay him to take her!), prove again and again that adoptive mom was serious and more.

We felt strongly this was just an attack against the adoptive mother, since she had four other children.
THEN WE SAW THE HAND OF GOD
An incident where a woman fell on the ground in front of our adoptive mother - she picked her up and helped her brush off.  In the dialogue that followed, it was discovered this was a Deputy of the region.  Mom told here story and the Deputy said - "Let me take care of this."

You see a deputy has more authority than a judge.

AND THE REST OF THE STORY?
New court date sent - April 10, 2017.....ended up being April 11.
AND THE RESULT?
WELL TAKE A LOOK AT THE ADOPTION PARTY!  IT IF FINISHED AND WE CELEBRATED BIG TIME WITH THE FAMILY!

THEY MIGHT STEAL OUR NEW FRUIT TREES, BUT THEY CANNOT STEAL OUR JOY

TWO TREES STOLEN
11 PLANTED IN THEIR PLACE
"and the joy, joy, joy was down in our hearts,
down in our hearts to stay!"

We had an entourage of Jeremiah Youth today join us out at EAGLES NEST LIFE SKILL FARM...and we had a wonderful sunshine day of preparing the gardens, planting 11 new trees and lots of vegetables and flowers.  Here is a recap of how life went today at EAGLES NEST.

1.  PURCHASED lots of tools we needed for the garden - hoes, rakes, shovels, etc.
2.  PURCHASED new trees - to replace the ones stolen from our garden.
3.  MOVED trees that were left in the garden closer to the house where they could be watched.
4.  PREPARED the garden for tomatoes, peppers, onions and more - of course, flowers too.
5.  VLADY AND NURBEK came and put in the clothes line, rug beater pipe and grape climber.
6.  VLADY AND NURBEK primed the steel posts - concrete is setting as we sleep!
7.  JOHN WRIGHT dropped in unexpectedly and prepare the field behind the gardens - it is all ready for planting.
8.  LAUGHED  and argued - should we plant the daffodils in a row, in a circle or in a clump.  The ones doing the planting won - and they are in a row.
9.  LUNCHED together under the beautiful Kyrgyz sun and took in the amazing view of the mountains surrounding us - on the great table that VLADY built for us.
10.  TIRED, smelling of smoke from the brush we burned today, we all headed home - except one girl who stayed on with Sondra for the night.

YES, life skills were in action today - along with relationship building, hard work and lots of fellowship fun.

BUILDING MEMORIES!

EAGLES NEST - APPOINTMENTS, DISAPPOINTMENTS AND REAPPOINTMENTS

TREES PLANTED LAST WEEK
HOLES IN THE GROUND TONIGHT

("oh where oh were did my little trees go, oh where oh were did they go?"

PLANTING STARTED last week with fruit trees, bushes and lots of flowers.  Tonight when Sondra went back to the farm, someone had gone into fruit tree row and took out two of her fruit trees.  This might seem like a simple matter, but when you realize that even leaving the farm for a short time, it opens the door for loss and theft...  it is devastating.

TOMORROW we will dig up all the fruit trees and bring them closer to the house.  Not a problem, just very sad.  The Jeremiah Youth will all go out to the farm with us tomorrow and we will do some work on the land...trimming bushes, clearing heaps of brush, moving dirt and readying the land for more planting.

WE PRAY for the persons who felt they needed to use Sondra's trees as their own in their own place....we pray for a good crop of fruit as they mature and for the new owner to see a new path of behavior in the future.

EAGLES NEST has great potential for Life Skill development.  Even tonight one of our college girls is out to the farm with Sondra.  They have been working on English, playing the card game "hearts," cooking together and just building a relationship.  Sveta will be with Sondra through tomorrow and then back to Tokmok to prepare for school on Monday.

EAGLES NEST needs lots of work and as the work continues we need lots of prayer.

This will be the chicken house - great place to come into at night and leave eggs
before heading out in the morning!

Coal "house" on the left and alley way to the outhouse!

When you cannot ride - you push!

Our job tomorrow to clean this area along with several other areas.

New windows in!  Wahoooooo.  And next month a new roof.

Fence needed for sure.  Maybe this would stop the theft losses.

This heats the house.  Keeps it warm - but is a lot of work.

Some of our youth just hanging out inside the house.

Back to work burning brush.

This is a summer kitchen and will be a wonderful place for BBQ
making.  Doesn't look like much, but has great cazan spots inside.

Lots of burning.

Sveta is a hard worker and so much fun.  LJ is resting after getting the
fire going and brush pulled over.  Sondra digging out a tree stump.

Trees today - who knows tomorrow?

Just a view of the farm.

Gardens started.

Sondra is a hard worker.

THANK YOU SPONSORS - STAY TUNED
FOR THE ONGOING CHANGES!!!!
