WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO - THOSE MOMENTS THAT REMIND US

IT REALLY IS ABOUT ONE

"STOPPING FOR THE ONE IN FRONT OF YOU"

Janybeck - stopped for the seniors!

Talented, smart, kind and ready to make a difference!
Dean's List Student at the International University of Central Asia

Pillow Project - Champion

When a young person joins Jeremiah 29:11, our hope and dream for them is to come to know their Heavenly Father and reach their God given potential.  Over the years we have seen this come to be again and again. Pouring into Janybeck has been a joy and pleasure for many years in Jeremiah 29:11.

Young girls and young boys come to live and grow in Jeremiah and Dayspring - being given a chance to learn what a family is and to be encouraged and supported to dream.

Janybeck is an example of determination and resiliency - no matter the tough circumstances.  Over the years he has been with us - he has grown and matured and we want to celebrate him right now.

THIS IS THE REASON WE DO WHAT WE DO!
TAKE A LOOK
HE DID THIS - THIS IS HIS IDEA - THIS IS HIS SUCCESS

"Please read Janybeck's project and see the heart of this wonderful young man! We are so proud of him!"

KYRGYZSTAN FIRE - RAISED $1,700 USD - STILL NEED HELP

ROOF SECURED AND COVERED
THANKS TO THE HELP
OF OUR KYRGYZSTAN CHURCH

CAN YOU HELP IN THIS REPAIR?

Thank you so much.  We have sent over the $1700 to get started on the repairs.  We have more to do and will be best if we replace the roof.  We have damage inside the house as well from water and smoke.  We need to do those repairs and paint inside - need to replace the roof and many rafters.  The furnace is compromised and the chimney needs replaced.

We thank you in advance for praying for our youth and for your donation to help bring order back to the home with our Jeremiah Youth.

WHEN HELP IS NEEDED - YOU MUST ASK

KYRGYZSTAN...
JEREMIAH HOUSE HAD A FIRE
All are safe - damage is medium
Resources needed for damage

The fire started in the chimney and we now have heard the structure of the chimney was faulty.  A neighbor spotted the flames and alerted the family - everyone was able to get out safely and the fire department came and put the fire out.

The youth were scared - still a bit shaken by the fire and the concerns that have surfaced.  You can imagine, when you are not secure - have been moved around, experienced previous life trauma, what this might do to the emotional state of a youth...and the questions they ask, " Are we going to be moved?" "Will we be able to stay together?"  (Yes they are all together and will NOT be moved.)

They are SAFE and SECURE, however to feel that way is a totally different issue.  Please pray for our youth and family who were living at Jeremiah House.

The church came together - Pastor Sasha and his team to place plastic around to cover the holes - to keep the snow and rain out.  HOWEVER we must do the repairs right away ....  can you help in this?

Damage to the following:
  • new roof needed
  • new rafters
  • new ceiling in some of the rooms
  • water damage repairs
  • smoke damage - ruining some things
  • furnace checked and replaced where indicated
  • new chimney
We are trying to raise just over $5,000.  We have some of the costs in, but now all of them.  We want to do this right - and time is of importance.

If you are able to help - please go to the donate buttons here in the blog  - or send donations to the address below.

THANK YOU,
THE LAMb Team

JEREMIAH YOUTH GIVING FORWARD

UPDATE

WHEN OUR JEREMIAH YOUTH GIVE FORWARD

ASKING FOR SOME HELP for JONABEC's PROJECT

Jonabec is one of our family children in Tokmok Kyrgyzstan. He has been with us for about 6 years. He is doing extremely well academically, with one more year at university [IUCA]. After that he plans to continue with a master's degree.

On my recent trip to Kyrgyzstan I was chatting with him and he shared about a project that he had come up with. in his words...THIS IS HIS REQUEST in HIS WORDS..

"Charity project:
Aims! To sew 45 sets of bed linen and present them to the nursing home in Kemin. To give women from low-income families an opportunity to earn money. Who will do it? Team of students who have desire make kindness to other people. What we will get? Happy faces of grandpas and grandmas. How you can take part in the project?"

I was pleasantly surprised..... a young man wanting to care for the elderly. He and his friends have raised about $250 US dollars for the materials and sewing. He needs a total of $400 US dollars.
If you would like to help, you can donate to LAMb, and we will see the money gets to him. There's a donate button on the blog.

Thanks

SENSORY PROCESSING AND THE IMPACT ON YOUTH IN CARE

BANGALORE, INDIA
JANUARY 2018

TRAINING:
 SENSORY PROCESSING
 AND
EMOTIONAL REGULATION

Ephesians 4:12-16

We (Johanna and Ruby) are here in India - while Lynn is in Kyrgyzstan. We are all working to help children and youth who have suffered from loss and other traumatic events in their lives.  We also know that each of the youth we care for have needs way beyond our understanding.

Yet, we are committed to sharing what we know - this information delivered through training and consultation.  Over the last few days and in the many days ahead we will be training trainers and practitioners who care for children and youth who were either exploited, abandoned or abused.  One major area of training for the time in India is in the area of Sensory Processing Disorder and Emotional Regulation.

Studies tell us that 16% of the school-age children have Sensory Processing Disorder - that is 1 in 6!  We, who serve children need to know and understand what this means.  How do we learn?  We STUDY, READ, ASK AND FIND THOSE WHO KNOW.

Children are suffering and are waiting for you to help!

Beyond to IMPOSSIBLE

BEYOND THE IMPOSSIBLE

We can never underestimate the power of our Heavenly Father in our lives.  We look at such earthly barriers and challenges and say - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.  Yet we see the impossible ACCOMPLISHED again and again in our lives as we walk with Him.

  • Impossible:  For this orphan go to university.
  • Impossible:  For us to make our ministry budget this month.
  • Impossible:  For this child with disabilities to have an adopted family.
  • Impossible:  For this missionary to connect with government leaders.
  • Impossible:  For this project to "get wings."
  • Impossible:  For us to get this ready in time.
  • Impossible:  For us to find funds for this building project.
  • Impossible:  To find a volunteer for this activity.
  • Impossible:  To launch the Global Capacity Building project.
  • Impossible:  To complete all we have scheduled.
ON AND ON!!!!!  Yet, as we step into 2018 we look at each one of these challenges we faced last year as ACCOMPLISHED!  YES ACCOMPLISHED!

And not one of these is due to us being anything special - just trusting in Him - the creator and maker of our journey.

In November - with a schedule heavy ahead - Ruby had a "stop" in her schedule.  While in Nicaragua, signs of trouble sent her back to North America and into the hospital for open-heart surgery.  Yet, the impossible was accomplished.  Not one training had to be canceled and we ended with a three-month outcome that is MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER - GLOBAL CAPACITY BUILDING

And now - as we head into 2018.  Lynn is heading to Kyrgyzstan in January - Bryan is heading to Botswana in January - Ruby and Johanna are heading to India in January.

And this is JUST IN JANUARY!
IMPOSSIBLE?  NOPE!
NOT WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AT OUR SIDE!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
KEEP BELIEVING
